All Hot Meal Dinners Cancelled Until Further Notice

Friends & Family,

I understand the growing concern surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) across our communities, and, of course, our prayers go out to all those who've been impacted. At this time of uncertainty, we need to reassure people as anxiety and fear can be relentless. We should all remember, we have a promise that “God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Nevertheless, like everyone, we’re following the Coronavirus developments very closely. We continue to monitor the latest advice from our provincial and federal health agencies and want you to know that we have plans in place to ensure the ministry of Metro Vancouver Dream Centre continues safely.

Our number one priority is to honour God and putting priority in the health and wellbeing of everyone does just that! While the risk of contracting the illness remains low, and our trust remains in the Lord regardless, we recognize that you may have some questions about how we’re responding to this evolving situation. If you are not feeling well, or think you may have symptoms of illness, we ask you to contact us by phone/view services online instead of coming to activities in person.

MVDCS – Saige Food Bank

Saige will continue with increased frequency of cleanings and will provide supplemental supplies at all gatherings:

  • We will initiate a "no contact" volunteer/patron beginning immediately
  • Sanitizing and cleaning all surfaces and washrooms each gathering
  • Cleaning and disinfecting all kitchen, serving areas, tables and pick up areas

MVDCS – All Hot Meal Dinners Cancelled Until Further Notice

Close contact, preparing meals and eating together as well as recognizing many patrons are elderly and/or have other health vulnerabilities make this difficult to continue safely. Further, St. Michael's has cancelledall hot meals as the Anglican Bishop requested of them. Out of concern for the safety of guests and volunteers, and out respect for their efforts to avoid contamination of the facilities we partner with them in.

Blessings,
Blaine McDonald
Chair
Metrovancouver Dream Centre
